TRURO – After four years of junior, Colby Lanceleve is far from hanging the skates up on his hockey career.

After being a leader on the ice this year for the Truro Bearcats, Stewiacke’s Colby Lanceleve announced his commitment to Plymouth State University in New Hampshire next season.
At the Truro Bearcats year-end banquet on Tuesday night, the 20-year-old Stewiacke native announced his commitment to Plymouth State University in New Hampshire for the fall.
After a long series of talks between the two parties, it was made official on Monday when Lanceleve received an acceptance letter from the school.
“It’s the team I’ve wanted to go to for a couple years, so I was happy to make it official,” he said.
A mutual agreement was reached by the end of the regular season when the team asked Lanceleve to send over his specifications for equipment. Still, he waited until the end of the Bearcats deep playoff run to finalize things.
“I wanted to make playoffs my focus, and it was my focus 100 per cent,” he said. “We made it official yesterday when I got my acceptance letter.”
After putting up 11 goals and 32 assists in all 48 regular season games this year, Lanceleve added seven goals and nine assists in Truro’s 14 playoff games. His performance down the stretch and into the postseason was a big reason for the Bearcats’ success in spite of being the lowest seed in the playoffs.
Lanceleve will follow in the footsteps of P.J. Moore (HOA), of Lower Onslow, and Lantz’s Andrew Wigg (HOA), who have both played for the school. Also helping his decision was the relationship between the Bearcats staff and Plymouth coach Craig Russell from HOA hockey schools in New Hampshire.
“They all spoke highly of (Russell) and his program,” Lanceleve said. “That made making a big decision a lot easier, school and hockey-wise, where I wouldn’t really know much about what I was getting myself into otherwise.”
The Plymouth State Panthers play in the Massachusetts conference of the NCAA Division-III, the second tier of collegiate hockey south of the border. Last season, the team posted a 14-3-1 record to finish at the top of its conference.
Lanceleve will study business administration at the school and will report to the team on Aug. 27.
Hi Jack,
Jack, I just wanted to thank you for letting Tyler participate in your midget camp in July 9-15th. In Tyler's words it was Awesome, he said he wanted to go back next year. He really enjoyed the resort and he loved the practices ,please pass on our appreciation to the coaches and staff that made it a unforgettable experience and coming second in the tournament didn't hurt either. He made lots of new friends and had a really enjoyable time even with the hill runs. Anyway thanks again and please thank all those great people who made it possible.
Jack,
Hi Jack,

My son Jeremy was on Fabian's 2000/2001 HOA Atlantics team in the Boston Selects tournament this year.First of all, let me say that he had an absolute blast at the HOA Camp & at the Tournament in Boston. He said it was the most fun week of hockey he's ever had. Both Jeremy & I thought Fabian was an awesome coach and he was great with the kids. Please give Fabian my thanks also. Hopefully we will see you guys again next summer for the 2013 Boston Selects tournament.
Thanks Jack for a great hockey experience this summer!

Jack,
Thanks so much for offering the HOA experience to my son, Liam. From the minute we left Boston, with Gold in their division, he has been talking about his return to HOA next year. He grew not only in his hockey ability but personal level as well. The players might arrive as kids, but leave as young men ready to move forward in their lives with a new found confidence in their hockey and personal abilities. Liam made friends that will last a lifetime. I have nothing but praise for you and the coaching staff you assembled. The experience was Top Notch from start to finish.
Sincerely,
Fred and Joanne Gillis
Jack,
Just wanted to let you know how grateful myself, Cindy , Katelyn and especially Devon are to have the opportunity to travel to Boston for great competitive games of Hockey, not to mention the high level practices and family vacation in a first class resort. Devon gained a great deal of experience during the practices and raised his confidence in himself to a higher level which helped him compete in some of the fastest games that I have watched him play, he will only get better because of this. I can't say enough about your selection in coaches, who moulded a group of strangers into a great team in three short days, unbelievable. I hope that they know how much we appreciate their efforts and patience throughout the program. I will be more than happy to return in the future if Devon is lucky enough to be invited again. I am sure that this will help Devon continue to improve his game which he will need when he participates in other high level hockey. Once again thanks and all the best, this was truly a great Hockey Opportunity.

Mr. Finlay,
I want to thank you for all your help and information for the HOA program. My son, Vernon, had a wonderful time--he is still talking about how much he enjoyed himself on the trip. His coach emailed me the following: "Vernon played the best I have ever seen him play, he was amazing," Vernon and his team needed a shut-out to get into the semi-finals and Vernon got the shutout--he was very pleased.
So again Mr. Finlay, thank you so much....HOA has made this summer the best Vernon has yet, and with his last year of minor hockey coming up, having this experience to look back on will hopefully have a positive effect on his games this season.
Sincerely
Connie
Hi Jack
Your hockey program is second to none, by far the best, very well done, I know my guys won't be stopping talking about it any time soon and they can't wait until next year as well as me, I can't wait, I would love to do some more teams and I'm sure if things get going earlier here then there will be lots more players wanting to go. Again Thanks for a amazing week, I never dreamed it would be so great
Thanks. Jimmy O’Brien
Hi Jack
Just a note to let you know that Dylan had an awesome week this summer. He has been telling everyone if you get the chance to go, do it and I agree with him.
The accommodations, location and the hockey were great. We had a lot of laughs even getting side tracked in the mountains wasn’t that bad. Shane Joseph and Ed O’Brien were great with the kids and parents too. Dylan thought they were the best coaches ever and he made life long friend with the Newfie boys.
So thank-you Jack for a great week.

Hello,Mr. Finlay!
Writing just to let you know that Tyler really enjoyed himself. He wished he could play down there all summer long. He found the week went very fast and was kept pretty busy. The only complaint I had from him was the loooooooooong bus drive. I told him if I had won the lotto I would have flew everyone down. (Ha HA) Thanks again for the opportunity to have my son experience a trip of a life time. This trip will be hard to top.
Yours truly,
Helen Whalen
Hi Jack,
I didn't get a chance because you weren't at the airport but thank you for the invite to the camp, I had a great time I hope you thought it went well. I would love to come back again next year if you chose to invite me again.
Thanks to the camp I had a call from a Junior A team in Ontario.. I'm not sure what team it was but my dad called me and told me someone was calling for me. It wouldn't have happened if I wasn't at this camp.
Again thank you very much hope to talk to you soon,
Mark Rideout
